David J. Dixon, DODavid J. Dixon, DO, provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care in North Florida. Originally from Mobile, Alabama, and raised in the Gulf Shores area, Dr. Dixon brings extensive experience and a patient-focused approach to women’s healthcare.
Dr. Dixon earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Auburn University and completed his medical education at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated with honors and was elected to membership in Psi Sigma Alpha, the national osteopathic honor society.
Dr. Dixon completed his internship at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, and continued his specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University in New Orleans.
At Tulane University, Dr. Dixon served as Administrative Chief Resident and earned multiple awards for excellence, including the Isadore Dyer Award for Teaching Excellence and the Hiram W. K. Baston Award for Outstanding Residency Performance.
Dr. Dixon holds board certification and serves as a clinical faculty member at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He maintains an active membership in the:

Dr. Dixon also served as President of the Capital Medical Society in 2018.
Dr. Dixon has practiced both obstetrics and gynecology since joining North Florida Women’s Care in August 2003. He delivers prenatal care, manages pregnancy, and provides a full range of gynecologic services.
Dr. Dixon is married and has two children. He enjoys fishing and spending time in coastal settings.
