Uro-Gynecology

Your pelvic health and quality of life are very important to us. North Florida Women’s Care offers testing and treatment options for the evaluation and management of female uro-gynecologic issues such as urinary incontinence, urinary urgency and leaking, chronic pelvic pain and chronic urinary tract infections. When ordered by our providers, these nonsurgical procedures and treatments are performed in the comfort of our office by our specially trained registered nurses.

North Florida Women’s Care can provide solutions to your urinary problems. We understand the debilitating effect that chronic pain or urinary incontinence can have on your quality of life and we are here to help.

Incontinence, Urgency, Urinary Leaking

There are several types of urinary incontinence, each with a unique treatment option. To assist in the diagnosis of your specific type of incontinence, urodynamic testing can be performed. A urodynamic study is a series of tests that evaluates how your bladder fills, empties and stores urine. Based on the results, your physician will design a treatment plan that is tailored to your condition and your needs. There are several types of urinary incontinence, each with a unique treatment option. Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is an inflammatory condition that effects the protective lining of the bladder. IC can lead to chronic pain of the bladder, pelvis, and lower abdomen. IC can also cause urinary frequency and urgency, recurrent urinary tract infection, and painful intercourse. If your physician suspects that you are suffering from IC, Potassium Testing is available in our office to help determine if the pain you are experiencing is being produced by irritating substances coming into contact with the inflamed lining of your bladder. Treatment options may include dietary changes, exercise, stress reduction, bladder training, physical therapy and pharmacologic options including bladder installations.

Bladder Instillation

We perform in-house bladder instillations for the comfort for those who suffer from Interstitial Cystitis. During a bladder instillation, a medicinal solution is introduced directly into the bladder with the intention of relieving the pains associated with IC.

Please feel free to discuss your urinary concerns with your physician to see if one of our bladder studies is recommended for you.
