“As an obstetrician, I have two patients: the mother and the baby. My goal is to make sure they are both healthy and prepared for the exciting future they will share,” says Dr. Sundstrom. His approach emphasizes comprehensive care for both mother and child throughout pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
Dr. Sundstrom is a Tallahassee native who graduated from Maclay High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude in Nutrition and Exercise Science from Florida State University before continuing his medical education at the FSU College of Medicine.
During medical school, Dr. Sundstrom served as vice president of the Medical College Council and received the Golden Caduceus award for his dedication to helping colleagues succeed, demonstrating his commitment to collaborative care and medical education.
Dr. Sundstrom completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident, gaining comprehensive training in all aspects of women’s healthcare.

As a Tallahassee native and FSU graduate, Dr. Sundstrom has deep connections to the North Florida community. He is dedicated to serving the families and women of his hometown with the highest standard of obstetric and gynecologic care.
Dr. Sundstrom lives in Tallahassee with his spouse and three daughters. He plays an active role in his church, serving in various leadership positions. In his free time, Dr. Sundstrom is an avid saltwater fly fisherman who enjoys Florida’s coastal waters.
