David J. Dixon, DO

David J. Dixon, D.O., is originally from Mobile, Alabama and was raised in the Gulf Shores area. He received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from Auburn University and then attended Osteopathic Medical School Nova-Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where he earned his degree in Osteopathic Medicine. He graduated with honors and was a member of Psi Sigma Alpha, the national osteopathic honor society. Dr. Dixon then completed an internship at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, before beginning his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tulane University in New Orleans.

While attending Tulane University, Dr. Dixon served as Administrative Chief Resident where he received multiple awards for excellence; including the Isadore Dyer Award for teaching excellence and the Hiram W.K. Baston Award for outstanding residency performance. Dr. Dixon is board certified and a member of the clinical faculty of the Florida State University College of Medicine. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Florida Obstetrics and Gynecologic Society, and the American Osteopathic Association. He served as the 2018 President of the Capital Medical Society. He has been with North Florida Women’s Care since August 2003.

Dr. Dixon is married and has two children. He spends much of his free time fishing and enjoying coastal activities.

Dr. Dixon’s current practice is both obstetrics and gynecology.
