Alex Franz, MD

Alex Franz, M.D., is a native of Marianna, Florida. He attended Chipola Junior College before earning a B.S. degree in Chemical Science from Florida State University. He received his MD degree from the University of Florida college of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Franz completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2004. While a chief resident he was recognized by the medical student body for his teaching efforts and was awarded the Outstanding Consultant Award by the department faculty.

Dr. Franz is a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology having received his board certification in November of 2006. He is a member of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Florida Obstetrics and Gynecologic Society, the Florida Medical Association, and of the Lonnie S. Burnett Society of Middle Tennessee. He has special interests in chronic medical problems and how they affect pregnancy, diseases related to HPV infection as well as problems affecting abnormal menstruation.

Dr. Franz is married and has 3 children. He enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fly fishing, and training his bird dog, June Carter.

Dr. Franz’s current practice is both obstetrics and gynecology.
