David O’Bryan, MD
David O’Bryan, M.D., now serves as North Florida Women’s Care Clinical Management Advisor after a 30 year career and one of our practice’s founding Obstetrician-Gynecologists. He is a native of Louisiana and graduated from McNeese State University where he served as President of the Student Government Association and was the student member of the Louisiana Board of Trustees for State Colleges and Universities in 1979. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. O’Bryan completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. .
In 1987, he received the James M. Ingram Award for Outstanding Resident Research. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, obtaining his board certification in 1991. Dr. O’Bryan was honored to be named “Best of Tallahassee” physician in 2006 by the readers of Tallahassee Magazine.
He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of the Florida State University College of Medicine where he serves as the Clerkship Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology for the Tallahassee Regional Campus. He was honored by the Tallahassee Regional Campus College of Medicine Graduation Class of 2004 with the award for “Outstanding Clinical Professor” for “exemplary teaching and compassionate patient care.” Dr. O’Bryan served as the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital from 1994-1998.
He has three children, Nicholas, John Paul and "Livvy" and 2 grandchildren, Abigail and Liam. He enjoys gardening, the Florida beaches and Cajun cooking. He is an avid Seminole sports fan, especially Seminole Football and Basketball, and he is a longtime Golden Chief of the Seminole Boosters. He is an active member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where he previously served on the church's Vestry (the leadership board). Dr. O’Bryan is a 2015 Graduate in Theological Education by Extension, a four year program from the University of the South (Sewanee) School of Theology.
In the past, Dr. O’Bryan served as Vice Chairman for the Board of Directors of Holy Comforter Episcopal School, where he served as General Chairman of one of the capital campaigns for construction of additional buildings on the school's beautiful campus. All three of his children are alumni of Holy Comforter Episcopal School.
